Back

We all know I missed this place like a balding man misses his hair.
I am so happy to be back.
The boys that were annoying before are still annoying.
The boys that won my heart over from the beginning still have it.

There are some new boys and some old.
I have new faces to meet and old ones to remember.
It looks like it is going to be a great 3 months.

Solid.

Thanks for the convo tonight.
It reminded me of good times back in the day.
It totally changed my heart.
You are a rock.
Thanks again.

Tattoo

If I got a tattoo this would be it.
But we all know I am not going to get a tattoo.
So I am just going to look and admire.
It is an awesome tattoo.
Incredible.

Humanitarian Aid

Kaleigh and I are heading off to Kenya in 12 days. This time around we got a plethora of things donated for the boys. I am so excited about it all and I am having the hardest time sorting it all out and trying to figure out what is realistic to take.

Here are just a few shots of what went down.
The bin is full of books. Lots and lots of books.

A ton of random isha.

Stuff from Aunt Karen that hasn't even been touched since she sent it our way.

One of the flat rate boxes opened. There are endless amounts of crayons, glue sticks, rulers, erasers, pencil sharpeners and other things.

Look at all those pencils. We have two bags that look like that. So many pencils.

Sand toys, little plastic jars to plant things and small note cards.
Oh the possibilities.

More things from Auntie Karen. Her relief society sewed 50ish fleece backpacks for the boys.

Lots of learning posters. I will be the best teacher ever.

The first picture is of the stuff before and the picture is of the stuff after I picked through it all. In the trash bags there is a bunch of fleece blankets. There is so much more to do and to figure out how to fit it all into suit cases.

Pray for us. Haha.

Angels

Today was a great day. It really was.
Would I relive today? Of course.

I was just struggling with something-something. You know.
End-of-the-semester/ moving-to-the-other-side-of-the-world freak out.
One of my roomies helped this sister out.
What you said was so poetic and exactly what I needed to hear.

"My beloved brothers and sisters, I testify of angels, both the heavenly and the mortal kind. In doing so I am testifying that God never leaves us alone, never leaves us unaided in the challenges that we face. “[N]or will he, so long as time shall last, or the earth shall stand, or there shall be one man [or woman or child] upon the face thereof to be saved.” On occasions, global or personal, we may feel we are distanced from God, shut out from heaven, lost, alone in dark and dreary places. Often enough that distress can be of our own making, but even then the Father of us all is watching and assisting. And always there are those angels who come and go all around us, seen and unseen, known and unknown, mortal and immortal." -Elder Jeffrey R. Holland.

Thanks for being my angel when I needed one.
I love you Jenn.

Root Canal

My teeth have been hurting again. I swear each time it gets worse.
I swear every dentist, orthodontist or endodontist knows me in the greater Madison county area. For real.

Today I woke up like any other normal day.
I felt like death warmed over but not because my teeth hurt but for other reasons.
I went to class and death left me but the pain kicked in.
I made it the whole class without leaving.

The second I step inside the door of my apartment it is like someone stuck an ice cube on my tooth and was stabbing it with a knife too. It was quite the harmony of feelings. I could not handle it anymore.

I called my endodontist and he told me to come right now.
That is what I did once I found a way to get there. (bless Jenn's soul)
I got there. I peed.
They took me in.

They offered me 3 different ipod choices: country, classical or today's hits.
You know which one I choose.
I popped on the head phones, they put on sunglasses on me and went to work.
It took less then 15 minutes and only 2 shots. If you know me... I don't numb easy.
I was done.

The glasses came off.
They took the ipod back.
It was done.

They still don't know if that tooth was the cause for all my pain but they are hoping that it is.
I am hoping that it is.
My parents are hoping that it is.
What is done is done.
No reversing that isha.

So now I have two appointments set up on Friday.
One with my dentist: Dr. Allen to make sure everything is up to par and to change the filling.
One with my orthodontist: Dr. Baker to change my retainer up top because they had to break it. It was in the way.
They worry about me a lot.
No joke.

I was playing games tonight with my friends when I got a call from a 208 number. 208 is Idaho's area code. I thought it was going to be someone in the bishopric or the school. Nope, it was Dr. Mortensen, my endodontist. He just wanted to make sure I was doing okay and that I had his cell phone number if I needed to call him in the middle of the night.

How presh is that?
It is so Idaho of him.

So I have 3 of Idaho's finest teeth men looking after me... watching my every chew.
There is something comforting about that.

PS I am doing way better so far. We will have to see what tomorrow brings.

Checking it Twice.

Remember my beaut of a list? I hope so.

This is what I have checked off from it so far:

2. Vogue photo shoot
Let's be honest. Most of the pictures that came out of this day were nastier than crap.
Sister Gloria came out to play. For real.

7. Donate clothes to Goodwill: I kind of changed this up to donate clothes to Goodwill or a friend in need. You can guess which way I swayed.

8. Go thrifting.

10. Be a vegetarian for a week. No words and Kevin don't say anything.

15. This is a secret by this weekend I can triple check it.

20. Watch a sunrise. Story time... I woke up at like 5:30 am during Thanksgiving break because KeiLani's phone was going off like crazy. I went over to turn off her phone and saw the sunrise. I took and picture and then went back to sleep. I think it is legit.

29. Eat a banana split
KeiLani helped me out with this one. Bless her soul.

40. Build a fort

44. Do a color by numbers picture... it was a paint by numbers. It is on my fridge by Kayleen's cat with leprosy.

47. Try a foreign cuisine. Kadon made this Ukranian isha. The cabbage rolls were delish but the buckwheat was questionable because I felt like it made me regular or something.

51. Go to an antique store. Everyone who is anyone knows that Rigby is an oyster and supplies the goods. Make it a day trip.

52. Finish a puzzle... double check.

62. Be in two places at once
This happens at least 6 times a semester. For a split second we are in Utah/Idaho.

64. Hug a tree. Kaleigh and I planted the tree that we hugged. It is in my Grandma's backyard.

65. Eat a pack of bubble gum all at once.
By number 4 piece of gum my jaw was locking up and my gag reflex was strong. Try to fathom the suffering I was experiencing in this picture. It sounds like an easy thing but holy cow it was hard. They should put it on fear factor or something.

70. Have a slumber party. This is basically my everyday with Madison. We have sleep overs all the time.

71. Watch a foreign film. I totally cheated on this one. Since Monte Carlo is filmed in a different country I am totally counting it. Don't judge.

73. Eat a while box of oreos in one sitting
Kev and I bought 2 boxes. I am not sure if we ate one box by ourselves because we kept offering them out to others but we did our best.

74. Play basketball

Everyday I'm Truffling

Madison and I made truffles. Oh yes. We made 7 kinds with TONS of help from my mom's cousin, Debbie Ochoa. It was so fun.
We had lots of ingredients. (That is an understatement.)
We had some oreos and chocolate.
I made lots of filling.
Madison maned the chocolate... like a boss.
There is the lush amounts of truffles we made.
You know we nestled those puppies in the backseat.
Happy after a truffleish day.

Night time:
Then I went to two parties. The first was a bridal shower. It was brilliant. I brought Kayleen with me against her will. She loved it. There was so much laughter and just good times.
The next party was one of my first college friend's 21st birthday parties. Ms. Shelby was wired this night. I tell you. First off... there were tons of different drinks at the party. I swear I was back in Kenya or something watching people making car bombs. This time it was real life and everything was virgin. We were mixing all sorts of drinks. Shelby was going crazy. She was dancing all over the place. Out of freaking left field she hollered, "I JUST WANT TO HAVE SEX!"

Oh my goodness.
Ms. Molly was set loose.
This girl was nuts.

Then she continued to ask everyone in the room if they felt the same way and would not settle for anything less then everyone agreeing with her. It was so funny. I think that just maybe her drinks were not virgin and she got a little extra something something in the mix.

All in all... It was a great night.
Thank you Shelby for letting your morals fly for a night.
We all benefited greatly.

Bless Brittany Bowen's Soul

Let's just start with yesterday. I woke up like wicked early to go to the enthodontist in Idaho Falls. They did these horrid cold and hot tests on my teeth that hurt worse then a mother. I swear. That is what they were trying to do. They need to know the sensitivity in my teeth. Oh... these puppies are sensitive. Like I expected, they found nothing. Nothing, I tell you.

They let me go. I had to go. I had class.

The second I get to class I am overcome with incredible pain. No joke. It was the most awful thing I had ever felt in my life but I needed to be in class. Of course I started tearing up because it was basically unbearable but I sat there the whole class. I stuck it to the man and basically suffered.

I came home not feeling too chipper about life and sign onto facebook.

Bless Brittany Bowen's soul. There is a video of her precious son, Landon, on my wall All he really said was,"oh snap." It totally took away the pain and brought a smile to my face.

Thank you so much for that. Perfect timing.

Library?

Today was great. For real it was.

I had a dentist appointment this morning in Rigby.
Rigby is an oyster. It is just full of pearls.
Cross my hear hope to die.

Then I came home.
I watched some Greys.
Then, I went to class.
I almost fell asleep during class expect it was so fetching cold that I put on my sweater and mittens mid nationalism lecture. People judged me. That's okay.
Then I came home.

I ate some grilled cheese.
I tried to do homework.
I failed.

I went to the gym.
I ran half of a mile and thought I was going to die.
WHAT THE HECK?!
That never happens to me.
Then I walked another half of the mile.
Could barely lift any weights.
This also never happens to me.
I forced myself to run at least another third of a mile.
I did it but swear I almost went into cardiac arrest.
Then I came home feeling like straight up isha.
For real.

I tried to do more homework.
I got some done. (not enough)
As I was watching a video for DNA, I got a text.

"Are you in the library?"
Ummmmm.... no son. I am in my room recovering from near death.

I end up in the library one clothes change and ten minutes later.
There are no words for what happened in the library tonight.
There was this kid in a green shirt.
I have never ever seen him in my life but he sure had a lot to say and sing to me.
Enough said? I hope so.

Kev just thought it was so funny.
I was so embarrassed.
I am so glad that kid was there.
I am so so so thankful for the memories of him now.
I am giggling just thinking about it.
I just hope that I never run into him EVER again.

Kev, Lizzy and I continue to do our homework.
Then the announcement comes on that the library is closing.
They announced it in at least 5 different languages.
Guess what the last langue was?!
SWAHILI!!!!
My heart was all a flutter.

The summary of the day is:
Just when I thought I was recovering from dying my night turned around and became epic.

And that's it.

Way Better

I was feeling super insecure today.
You know it was a bad hair day.

Nothing really went wrong.
I have no complaints about the progression of the day.

But now it is a perfect day.
It ended so well.
It was like someone was looking out for me.
I wonder who?! (the good ol' Heavenly Father)

Thanks for stopping by Kev.
You are the best.

2 Days and Counting.

I haven't blogged in like ten years. I know you all hate me now but distance makes the heart grow fonder. I bet we are super fond now. Not fondle but just fond.

Ummm... Where to start?!

I stopped doing the different hair dos. I hate doing my hair. I would rather do someone else's hair. I am like 95% convinced that I did all 30 days of hair. I basically did about 17 of them on myself and then the rest of them were done upon the rest of my friends and way more. I swear I am a pro-hair doer these days. I love hair.

No pictures of the hair.

FHE has been great. We have done a lot of things where we get messy.

I am borrowing the Hunger Games book from my friend Mikey. I haven't cracked it open yet but you know that Kevin is down my neck about it. He just wants to share the blessings of the book that was brought to his life. We made Moriah's hair go darker. She know is officially a sexy beast.

Halloween was broken up over two separate days. Our ward had one party and then the accutal day of Halloween happened. For the ward party we dressed as super heroes and went to the soup and pumpkin get together. For the accutal day of Halloween we were not planning on doing anything but last minute we all got dressed and hit the town. It was so fun. We went to the Southgate party.
This is basically how it went down: We were all sitting on the couches and I said, lets go do something and we did. Our little future missionary was putting on makeup in the mirror and said, "I need to look like a skank if we are going to a Southgate party." That's my girl. The Southgate party was nasty. We traveled else where and ended up at Nauvoo House. We hung with some boys there until curfew, ran into Kev on our way out and took our lush selves on home.
Another very important event that happened during this time was Kevin made us watch The Last Exorcism. I just want you to all know that it starts out as the most boring 45 minute beginning of a movie ever and then the last 20 minutes or so is just a lot to handle. My face was all sorts of smashed behind Kevin's back with blankets over my eyes and hands on my ears. I could not handle that isha. At least I slept well that night. Moriah, Cortney and Madison didn't sleep.

This one night Kev, Mason and Madison came over. We played this slew of games. It started with like hearts or something and escalated really fast. The best part of the night was when we were playing ULTIMATE spoons. It started with normal spoons and then progressed into putting the spoons in the bathroom or in the couch. After that got too easy it progressed into calling out a random apartment number and then running from our apartment to the new apartment, going into the apartment and then finding their spoons. It was so fun. Mason is part gazelle or something. Kevin is just rough. That boy was throwing elbows. Madison and I were just trying to keep our breath as we were running and laughing really hard while the boys pushed us around. I highly suggest this activity to anyone. We played more games that night including; the snorting game, things, truth and dare jenga, the HA game and Cooncha.

Photo shoot Sundays: Part one.

Part two.

I have been hanging out with these 3 chickas. We are the best 4 some that has ever happened to this campus. There are 4 of us from 3 different apartments. Our names are Madison, Moriah, Cortney and Me (Megan).

Road Trip!
Look at our lush my hair is. Not. We went on a road trip to Utah. It was so fun.

Because of a really complicated story we got stuck at the Temple Square for a little bit.  In the Joesph Smith Building there was this exhibit where they had a bunch of the prophets and other old things. I really have no words on how to explain it. We also met this cutest old man who would have just talked to us for hours about everything but it was too cold for him outside.

I went down to Utah for 2 reasons. Kadon and Chad. Kadon won for being more awkward. Hands down. Chad was the same lush Chad he has been ever since ever. Kadon will adjust. I know it. He was already doing better from the first Friday I got there to Sunday.

It is the Hatch family braces club. We wished that Christine was there too. Our little club would be complete with her there. I have self elected myself the president and soon enough I will have to pass on the presidency to one of the youngins.

Mark is great. He is the foriegn exchange student from Spain. The poor child is so awkward and just precious. I loved talking with him. He told me all about his first kiss story and all sorts of other things. I love the child.

Then we were headed home. We stopped at In n' Out 3 times on the way home. We made lots of friends. We said hello to Kerianna. It was all around a great weekend.

I love these girls. I love where this semester is at right now. I am just happy lately. I have wanted this for so long.
