FHE Brothers

Every semester we are blessed with a new bunch of FHE brothers. I find that every semester the new bunch brings back the same six characters each time.

1. The one who always has the ladies. Girls just flock to this son of god. Sometimes he does it on purpose and sometimes he is just plain lucky. Which ever he might be, there is always the ladies man.

2. The one that is just super socially awkward. A lot of the time it is the pre-mi but it is always hit and miss. You just have to love him no matter how many silences there are.

3. The one is who is super funny. This child gets you going and soon you find yourself rolling on the floor begging him to stop but in all reality you just want him to keep going. He is the brother everyone misses when FHE happens and he is not there.

4. The one who is just nice. There is not really any other way to explain it then that. He is the one who you call if you are having a hard day. He is the one that is just so full of love.

5. The one is who is taken. You don't really get to know this brother because you feel like just looking in his direction is like sinning. Lets move on.

6. The one who loves the Lord more than the average person. You might just call him a spiritual giant but as they say in A Walk to Remember, he is more of the "honk if you love Jesus" type.

Tomorrow will be our second time with our new brothers. It is so funny because they have already started to fall into these categories.

Devin you are number three. Can you guess the rest of your roommates?

Paul Mitchell

There is a fair type thing here in Rexburg this last weekend. I had no idea about it and I really had no idea that I was going to go to it but here I was on a Saturday at 3:30 doing nothing. Jeff asked me if I would like to go to a concert. Zip-zam (as my mom would say) and we were walking down main street looking for a whole road closed off.

Who knew this was happening? Not I.

Jeff and I quickly got wrapped up in the festivities. There was so much fun there. Of course we didn't loose focus of while we were really there and made sure we listened to his friend's, Justin's, band perform. There were so many cute little booths and free things all around us. I made sure we all hit up the Paul Mitchell booth and got our hairs did.
Buzz and Jeff rocking the colorful mohawk!
Rave with her buns of steal!
Boc Boc and her do that made her look like a BABE!
The best for last... My wonderful braided twist. I think I feel in love when I saw this beauty.

As a little disclaimer Rave, Buzz and Becca all met up with us later after we realized how fun this little shindig was.

Hay! Hay! Hay!

Every fall semester during the first few weeks Kaylee and I take pictures in the hay down the street from her house here in Rexburg. Watch us grow up.

Year 1 Fall 2008

Year 2 Fall 2009

Year 3 Fall 2010

I cannot believe that I have been in Rexburg for 3 fall semesters. I guess time does really fly when you are having fun.

Utah, already?

The first weekend of the semester was spent in Utah... of course.

I didn't just go down for fun. It was business time. I went down for Kathy's farewell and to make sure that Bailey got picked up for the airport. After a lot of confusion and possibility of not going down, we ended up in Salt Lake at the airport getting Bailey. Rave and I dropped Stephanie at her grandparent's home in Sandy and jetted down to Provo area so I could met her BFF! Brad was everything I was expecting except 10 feet taller. Bailey and him just hit it off so nicely because I guess they went to school together for a few semesters and had a lot of the same mutual friends. Carson took Bailey and I to the Hatch's house in Orem for our stay. We chatted for a few and eventually kicked Carson out the door because there was no way we could stay awake any longer.

Carson thinks he is so suave.
The next day Bailey and I woke up, ate breakfast, got ready and then headed to Sandy where Kathy was located and helped them sweep, cook, decorate cookies and set up tables/chairs. The people that were helping set up was a mini cabin reunion! Bailey and I were still super tried from the night before.
We went back to Orem for a while and then grabbed KeiLani and jetted to Salt Lake to play with Jaymes. Oh Jaymes... What to say about him? Nothing, lets move on.

We played some crazy rounds of go fish involving dares like; lick the crosswalk button and climb the pole. The most epic dare of the night was created by me and performed by KeiLani. I was something along the lines of, "Say your best pickup line to the next person of the opposite sex who walks by." In all honesty it took a few men to walk by her before she got the guts to but in the end she whipped out beauty and won that child's heart. I am also pretty sure that Jaymes was more embarrassed about the whole situation then KeiLani was. We had a lot of fun romping around Salt Lake.

The next day was Kathy's farewell. She got out her whole talk without shedding a tear!  She will tear up Ogden, Utah!

Stepping Up

Today might be the best day ever in Kaleigh's life. okay and it is a close to the top in mine too.

My phone has been on the fritz lately. I have had it for 2 years, it was about time for it to die anyways. We walk into the AT&T store and all I know is that I want a phone that is buy one get one free because Kaleigh needed a new phone too and her birthday is on Sunday. You know, I am just trying to get favorite sister points. There was a plethora of phones with this deal. The kind retail lady points me in the right direction to find my love in the corner. The Pantech Ease. It screamed my name.
I tell my mom that is the one I want. Then we tell the lovely lady helping us out. Come to find out you have to have a plan with $20 of messaging or internet to have the phone I wanted. My mom, bless her heart, said, "Okay lets do this." Bada-bing Bada-boom... I have texting, along with the rest of my family including the grandparents. Kaleigh is now stoked on life and we have matching phones... once again.

Bishop's Store House

Bailey called me the other night and said she was coming out. Then she called me a few nights prior to her coming out and said that Charlie is coming out too and he wants to volunteer in the Bishop's store house. She asked me if I would like to come and I said, "Heck yes!"

It honestly was so fun. I would do it again in a heart beat! I wish I knew about this place at the beginning of the 7 week break because I would have been there every second it was open.

We got there just in time for lunch but of course they made us work for our food. We put 4 boxes of oranges into 2 pound bags and then got into the lunch line. Lunch was a Sunday dinner complete with roast beef, mashed potatoes and veggies.
After lunch with no hesitation they threw us in the freezer. We were thinking that it was going to be like 30 degrees in there or something, you know just below freezing... try negative 10! It was so cold. We had to jump around and pull some Richard Simmons moves to stay warm.
We got our freezer tasks done after getting a little frost bite on my bare toes. They sent us back to our first station except this time it was for apples and corn. We bagged about 4 to 6 boxes of apples and shucked 3 boxes of corn. Never have I seen corn like this. You know that hairy stuff that comes out of the top of corn? Well just imagine it half a foot long and black. So sick. (No worries, we cut it off.) After the corn, we did some more apples and went home.
Everyone there was so sad to see us go. It is sounding like Charlie, Bailey and Kaleigh are returning next week but I will have to find one in Rexburg if I want to go.

If you live in the greater San Jose area, you should totally go to the store house. It is so much fun and you can just walk in and help. I would even suggest it as a mutual activity or for activity days.

Vernie Park

My old roommate Vernie came up from Oceanside to play... well sort of. Her mom is dating this blessed gentleman in Concord and she came out for that. Anyways... that is beside the point. I jumped into the car and made the hour trek out to Concord to visit her.
We went on an adventure and found:
Planned Parenthood.
I have only seen this blessed establishment in movies. Well now if I ever have a little mishap I know where to go.
As the night progressed we saw Inception, which blew my mind. After the movies we ate dinner, went swimming and got instant nipplitis and then I had to make the journey home.

Vernie was my 2nd roommate I have ever had. She is such a blessing in my life.

The Annual High School Reunion

Lets be honest here... I am always a little leery of going to my high school friend's get togethers. I just always feel like we are going to have nothing to talk and no one can relate to living in Idaho. Here I am roped into going to another little shindig at Chevys just like the one before. I walk across the great space of Chevys to get to the table everyone is sat and instantly I am grateful that I came. I always forget how much I love these people. This is just such an exciting time in our lives and it seems like we are all going out and conquering the world.

Elissa is going to South Africa for 3 1/2 months.
I am going to Ethiopia for 3 months.
Kim just got back from Belize.
Brittany just had a baby.
I think we are growing up.

Isaiah Joseph

Brittany and the baby came over. Charlie came over that day. Of course they both came over on one of the hottest days of the year and guess who does not have AC... yes, that would be our house. It was flippin' hot but we had fun.
Brittany has become a great mother.
Everyone thinks this looks like an adoption agency photo. "Look at this couple how they took in an African child who was not going to have a bright future but now his possibilities are endless!"
Charlie we made the right choice in adoption.
