chacos

Everyone who owns them thinks they are the best shoes in the world.
Everyone who doesn't own them thinks they are the nastiest shoes in the world until they are suckered into getting some their selves and first try on they are hooked.

I swear that anyone that rocks the chacos is the coolest person in the world.
My favorite chaco look is when a girl wears them with skirts or dresses. It takes a lot of gonads to do that.

Today as I am causally walking home from the post office I saw a guy.
We made eye contact.
We looked at each other's feet.
We made eye contact again and at the same time we said, "Nice chacos."
What a blessed son.

You see... in conclusion, everyone who wears chacos speaks the same language.
We want to have fun.
That is it.

For all my chaco lovers out there:
Bless your soul.
You are going party it up on the way to heaven.

Look through a few of these pictures. Doesn't life just look so much more fun?

I guess what I am trying to say is:
Thanks dad for buying me these shoes
...even when you saw how much they cost.
Best birthday present EVER!

Best Friends... just a few

I have been blessed with some of the coolest cats as best friends.
No joke.
We will put them in order of when I met them.
I did not put up all my best friends. It is just a few.

1. Brittany Soul Sister Sims. Bless her soul. We met in 7th grade PE and for those who do not know, 7th grade PE friends are eternal friends. That is a fact. We have been through a lot of crazy things together. Stuff people would never even guess happen in real life. We have traveled together. We made it through middle school and high school together. That is a miracle in its self. She might tell you that I am her rock. It is totally mutual. I love her. No matter what.

2. The craziest person ever, Julianne Hansen. We did joy school together. Which means I met her way back in the day but we didn't really become friends until seminary. It was an insta-click. I love this girl with all I have. She has blessed me with lots of patience. We have also been through a lot together; high school, nasty holister boys, broken engagements and just peeing our pants at the park on the way home from the dance festival. She's been a great friend. Now she is on a mission and I just miss her terribly. God bless Germany.

3. The future father of my children, Jeremy Struk. For real. This kid is the bomb. Okay, I hated him when I first met him but he grew on me quick. We also met at seminary. I don't know what to say, he is such a blessed son. We've been on countless amazing dates. He knows how to party like its the end of the world. He made my youth dance experience 5 zillion times better. He just continually blesses my life. I love getting letters from him. I just sit and giggle through all of them. He is blessing the lives of people in Texas right now. He is a shinning star.

4. My little hunk of burning love, Charlie Beckh. The child is a blessing from heaven above.  Just how we met describes our relationship. He caught me smelling him and so I dropped a pick up line on him to kill the awkwardness. To my astonishment, he turned around and asked my name. I told him. He said it sounded familiar and then thought about for a second or seven and said, "Oh YEAH! I read it in my patriarchal blessing." Bomb, baby. I was hook, line and sinker. This child is so great. I miss him so much. He is off in Russia teach the saints out there. We will have a joyous reunion when he returns.

5. My little Hermana Bailey Dot Capener. This senorita is serving in Spain right now. I miss her more than a bald man misses his hair. We also met at temple pageant. We didn't really become friends until it was over but friends we did become. We done a lot together and been through a lot together; boys, uncles dying, Charlie being Charlie, pooping in the woods and so much more. We are tighter than spandex. That is the truth. She can whip up any hair do. I hope one day I will be as good as her. I cannot wait for her to get home. She is such a blessing.

6. My sugar thang, Ms. Addie Mae Aikele. We've been friends for years. I have always loved Addie. We have never ever been as close as we are this semester. I am so glad she is up here at school this semester. I don't know what I would do without her. Maybe it was her going off to Jeru while I was in Kenya that made us so close or maybe it was things that happened before. I just don't know. I love this little ball of energy and her dance moves. I am so glad we are such great friends now.

7. The girl who makes me sprout a wild hair, Sister Courtney "Vernie" Park. I did not expect us to become such great friends. We knew each other one semester and kind of became friends but then the next semester we roomed together and it was game over. How in heavens did I ever live without this girl in my life? She is awesome. We roomed together that semester and then went on this incredible road trip down the California coast and then up through Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Idaho. It was just so great. She is so great. I love her. I love her quirks. I just love her to pieces and miss her a lot. We only see each other a few times a year but they are always awesome.

8. The man you are all waiting for, Kevin Gregory Forsell. Oh Kev, where to begin? He is my bestest best friend. The poor kid is put through hades as my best friend. When I am mad, he knows it and I tend to direct my anger towards him. He is so patient with me. We met before his mission and then he left for two years. It feels like 99% of our relationship he has been on a mission. He is so kind and just nice to everyone. He loves his family. We've done a lot together. I went up to Washington and we played. We wrote a lot of letters and sent a lot of packages. He came down to California and we played some more and then road tripped out to Idaho. I love him so much even when I forget. This kid continually blesses my life. If I could only be half the friend he is to me.

9. My little southern bell, Sister Becca Dow. I don't really know how we became such good friends. I guess we all just bonded over a mitchell or two. This girl is the work out queen of the century. She is my drill sargent  She is also a little cow girl. She loves her family more than water. She makes a hot isha grandpa. She is so far away from me these days and I hate it. I love Becca. I love that she use to crawl into bed with me when she was having a hard day and cry on my shoulder. I love how she tries to feed Raven more food then she wants. I love that she is so willing to serve and prays for opportunities. She is so incredible. Nuf said.

10. Last but not least... my personal band-aid, Raven Lowery. If I am having a bad day, Raven is always a call away. She is my band-aid. She makes everything better. We've have had some crazy semesters and we also bonded over a mitchell or two. I highly encouraged her to chop off all her hair. I know she'd do anything for me. I know I can always count on her. I love that she is so funny. I love that she is so punk. I love that she has had so much drama in her life. I love that she married the guy I wanted her to. I just love the girl. I mostly love that she is up here right now, when I need her.

Braided Messy Bun

This hair style was the bomb. Maybe I just say that because yesterday was so tragic but really... I was in love. Remember back in the day when I started this whole deal and I did my hair up in the Becky? Well, my roomies all thought this should be called the Reverse Becky.

Here she is:

I know. You love the hair. Okay, you have to cut me some slack. I took the picture at the end of the night. I have been rocking this hair do all day and it has been raining. Didn't she keep up quite nicely?

As you can probably tell from the tone in my typing, I had an excellent day. What made it so great? I have no idea. My eye lashes didn't clump and my hair was great. That is always the perfect start to a day. Also today for the first time in a long time I felt like I had my best friend back. Maybe I didn't see them today or haven't even seen them since Saturday but the void was full today. If you read this... thanks for that.

For all you hot people out there, I hope your day was just as great.

Bad Hair Day

There are no pictures of hair today. I did do it the way I was supposed to. I just was not feeling it. Today was just simple with braided bangs back and hair down. It doesn't really get easier than that. Something about my hair being ridiculously long and straight just wasn't working for me today. I felt so polygamist. I kept the braid like I was supposed to and then put it in a pony tail. That wasn't working for me either but I kept it.

How can one bad hair day make you so insecure? For reals.
All day long.
It stunk.

Also I think there was a combo of my eye lashes clumping together too.
Well, I don't think.
I know.

The combo of my bad hair and clumpy eye lashes just made for an insecure day.
My roomies tried to comfort me with the famous, "Don't be insecure girl! Work that pony tail! Own that up-do!" but it just was not working for me.

It was just one of those days.

Then, I went to Raven's house. She is like a bandaid. She just makes it all better. She just sat me down and did my hair and makeup and turned me into a punk rock goddess and it was great. Everything was okay in the world again. I love that girl.

And that was my day.

Braided Crown

It was easy. I first curled my hair and then french braided the side until they met each other and wam-bam it was done.

I am very aware that my hair has reached a very long status and might be pushing polygamist lengths.
Don't judge.

For FHE we thought it would be fun to do Human Sundays. We were totally proven right when we were having the time of our lives and it seemed like every other FHE group came out to watch us.

How you play:
1. Buy stuff you would use in a normal ice cream sunday
2. Split into 2 groups: one on the top floor and one laying on their backs on the bottom floor.
3. The people on the top floor dish out the ingredients for their perfect ice cream sunday and try to make it into the mouths of the people on the bottom floor.
4. Switch
The bottom floor

The top floor

Getting ready

The after mess with the FHE sisters. We are so beautiful.

Jenn and I. So nappy.

I think all the mess really brought out my eyes and slicked back my hair quite nicely.
What do you think?

The best part was after and trying to take a shower. All that ran out of my hair was brown. It was a continuous brown run of water. So nasty.

Today was one of the best days I have had in a long time.
I have no real clue why but I will list a few.
1. Jeremy Struk. I love this kid. I got a letter from him and it was just golden. I read it in class and I was all sorts of smiley and I was giggling. I think the people in my macro econ class are convinced I am crazy.
2. Bailey Capener. I also got a letter from her today too. It was perfect. It went so perfectly with Jer's letter. She just cracks me up.
3. I got a text from Brittany Sims at 2:02 am. It didn't wake me up. I got it in the morning. It said something along the lines of, "I just almost peed my pants and it reminded me of you." Is there any better text in the world I could have woken up to?! Best thing ever.
4. All my morning classes are canceled for the rest of the week. I love when class is canceled. This means I only have one class a week.
5. I had a really good hair day. Enough said.
6. I love the rain. It rained.
7. I got a package from my Mom and Kaleigh. Who doesn't love a little love mail in the form of a package?
8. I got my last paycheck from working this summer. It was 3 times as much as I thought it was going to be and there was a $50 bonus attached to it!
9. FHE was awesome. Human Sundays?! Best idea ever.
10. I finally feel a little on top of my homework. Just a little.

And that is basically it. I hope you enjoyed it. I hope your day was half as good as mine.

Hair Hair Hair

Yesterday I did my hair in a braided bun. It was easy enough.

Conference was great. I basically jumped Jenn, screamed out of pure joy and peed a little when they announced a new temple in the Demorcatic Republic of Congo. Those members in Africa must be SO happy.  I can not even imagine. Well, I kind of can. The new temple will be 600ish miles way. The closest temple they have to Kenya right now is 2500ish miles away... on the other side of the continent. Man oh man. That basically put me in a good mood for the rest of the day. I didn't do much but it was great.

Today we watched conference again. It was also great. I did Jenn's hair. Just check how lush it is. I seriously cannot get enough of it. I think I have told her to turn around like 50 times today. It looks so cool.

My hair was done up in the braided cross over bun. Jenn had to help me out on this one again. What would I do without her?

Addie and I went on a walk in between sessions and then after it was over we went on a bike ride all over Rexburg. We found some treasures for sure. I had no idea about some of the places in Rexburg she showed me. I did her hair. It turned out SO lush. Seriously. I wish that these pictures showed you better. I loved it so much.

During the 2nd session today Jenn, Addie and I broke out our crafty side and decorated frames. It was so fun and made the time fly by. Jenn's is the green/yellow combo and mine is the purple/green combo. They turned out super cute. Thank heavens for Porters.
