Today I had a major epiphany. This one nearly knocked my socks off.
Okay, here it is.
In Capstones class we were talking about gifted learners and the programs they go into. Of course I was thinking about my two little little sisters who are at a target school for that kind of stuff. The teacher said that every school had programs for children like this. I had no idea what she was talking about because the only thing that Del Mar had was ghetto-ness. It all dawned on me when she started mentioning AP programs.
Del Mar did offer a small variety of AP classes. Senior year I was signed up for AP US History aka apush. Right before the school year started I backed out of that class and was put into normal US History.
I have never ever thought about that choice again since the day I made it. It felt good and the homework load was a lot lighter. I had never thought about that choice again until today.
If you take an AP class it counts as high school credits and college credits. If I took that course back in high school it would have covered my American Foundations class that I took my first semester here at BYU-I.
Now you are starting to see where I am going.
What happened in that class? Well nothing.
What happened before that class? A lot.
American Foundations is the reason that I met Kevin! He and Mike Call had the same class as me the hour right before mine. We would talk after his class and before mine.
Who would have ever guessed that just a little change in my class choice my senior year of high school would have effected my future so much? Not I.
